Třebíč offers many possibilities to enjoy culture and sport for people of all ages. Great music festivals, concerts, theatrical performance, attractive sport matches and tournaments take place in the town. Especially popular among local tourists are the cultural events organised in the historic centre of the town as a part of the multi-cultrucal festival called “Třebíčské kulturní léto” (Třebíč summer of culture).
The town invites you to sports activities. Newly built Aqua Park Laguna attracts by year-round water attractions and a water slide, and an outdoor area with a playground for beach volleyball. In the summer season, also Polanka swimming area is open. For more sports activities there are available tennis, football and baseball fields and indoor halls for squash, badminton and a climbing centre. You can choose between several modernly equipped fitness centers. Skating enthusiasts will appreciate the ice rink and an outdoor track for inline skating. Cross-country trails lead through the forested park in Libuše Valley right in the town and are also suitable for popular Alpinning.
Different places in Třebíč offer beautiful views of the city. From the look-out on the Hrádek hill you will see the whole square and the Jewish quarter, from the viewpoint from the mill you will be attracted by the dominant town clock tower. The highest point is the building of the former water tower on the top called Kostelíček, which offers a little insight into the history of water supply.
In order to explore and learn in an entertaining way, visit Ecotechnical Centre Alternátor. You will have the chance to experiment with different natural phenomena. You will surely choose from more than 800 projections of natural processes on the earth′s surface, which are projected onto a carbon sphere.
An unique permanent exhibition of fifty paintings and sculptures was donated by a native from Třebíč living in France, Francois Mertl dit Franta, known under his stage name Franta. The gallery was open in2014. In the gallery you will find a cross-section of the life’s work of this author of European and global significance. His works are part of sixty major public collections around the world, exhibited for example in New York in the Guggenheim Museum, the Brooklyn Museum and the Bronx Museum of the Arts. In the Czech Republic, among others, the National Gallery in Prague or the Czech Museum of Fine Arts in Prague. In France, his works of art are to be seen in Museé d′Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Centre Pompidou, and many others.
In Třebíč you will enjoy rich cultural life all year round. Within Třebíč Cultural Summer the town comes alive with festivals, concerts and exhibitions. Hundreds of new visitors are attracted annually by the Feast of the Three Hoods, linking culture and history. Municipal Theatre offers theater performances of various genres. Also the cinema and other cultural events offer a large variety of entertainment.
